On the the next big thing...

The Newark Spring Expo was on Sat. I don't know if it was the abnormally cold weather for this time of year or what, but it was kinda a sparse showing. I did meet some very nice, helpful people though. It was definitely a great learning experience for my first time doing a craft show. I got some ideas for things to add to my show as well. I'm going to look for some farmer's markets to enter in this summer. If anyone knows of a farmer's market or another great craft show- please let me know!
On an unrelated note, we are going to be moving into our first house in a few weeks. I'm so excited! I will have a dedicated crafting area that is NOT the kitchen table! We will have to see what that brings... Probably not much for a while, b/c I have enough painting to do on the walls, not to mention cleaning, organizing and fixing many things!

See you at the Newark Spring Expo:)

Well, now it's official! I've entered my first craft show. I'm excited to see how it goes. I'm hoping to get some new ideas and to connect with fellow crafters as well as buyers. I will be at the Spring Shopping Expo on May 8, 2010. It will be at the Cherry Valley Lodge, in Newark, OH, 10-3. Hope to see you there!

Inspiration

Spring must be in the air. This afternoon I got a burst of creative energy. Too bad bedtime will be calling soon. I bought a bunch of beautiful new fabrics and I am working on some great new things. Of course, you will be the first to see the finished projects. My back is currently aching from bending over cutting out the patterns. I am going to make a cute little summer outfit for my daughter. It's a ruffley little dress with little shorts or capris under it. I am also planning on making lots of things to add to the shop. My last project is to re-cover my old stroller. I was never too fond of the pattern, but I bought it because of the garage sale price tag:) That's the thing I love about knowing how to sew. You can turn old, ugly things into beautiful things with a new life. It's so green of me!;)

Free patterns

I am thinking about making a cover for our older car seat, stroller and swing. I bought them used, but would like it to reflect my style a bit more. Here is a link I found for some free patterns- http://www.makethemyourself.com/free.html

Welcome!
Hi, my name is Laura. I enjoy making unique things that make you smile. I am a stay at home mom. I think that family and subsequently the family home is very important. That's why I make things for each of them. I will be making new items, so be sure to check back often!
